STADA’s First Hackathon Held in Serbia
STADA’s First Hackathon Held in Serbia
27. September 2022.
STADA Global Information Systems in Serbia (STADA GIS Serbia), in collaboration with Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ICT hub) has hosted STADA’s first hackathon and the first hackathon organized in the field of healthcare in Serbia -
Tech4Health
.
The hackathon has been held in the ICT hub in Belgrade, and eight teams have worked on the software solutions for the home pharmacy, or the best solution for the home pharmacy digitalization.
The hackathon participants have had 48 hours to design and then present their technology solutions. They were continuously supported by STADA Group mentors during the entire process.

Tobias Guenthoer, Chief Information Officer, and Senior Vice President of Global IT in STADA Group pointed out that this has been the first hackathon organized within STADA Group.
‘It was amazing to see the energy and creativity of all the teams that took part in our hackathon. They all had great ideas for tackling the challenges with digital healthcare services. All of us in STADA Group are proud of this event that we have organized in Belgrade, and that we can really connect with the IT community in Serbia for the purpose of creating digital innovations in the pharmaceutical industry’, Guenthoer said.
The winning team at the event stood out because their application offered exceptional solutions in the ‘community’ option.
Nikola Arsić, the leader of the winning team, assessed that all the teams did a great job: ‘We have managed to learn about the pharmaceutical industry, which we were not so unfamiliar with, and shape our idea in collaboration with and support of the mentor. It was a wonderful experience, and I would like to thank for winning the first place, which means a lot to us.’
Representatives of the ICT hub in Belgrade also did not hide their enthusiasm for the hackathon. According to the Executive Director of the ICT Hub, Kosta Andrić, the most important thing is that the IT start-up community in Serbia can continue collaborating with STADA Group after this event.
‘Teams which participated in this hackathon will have the opportunity to visit Hemofarm’s factory in Vršac, and continue creating new digital solutions in the pharmaceutical industry. For us in the ICT hub, the collaboration of big companies with small teams is crucial and vital when it comes to innovations’, Kosta Andrić pointed out.
The winning team at the #Tech4Health hackathon has presented a platform consisting of four parts:
the first part is a home pharmacy, which provides information about all medicines and expiry dates,
the second part is support in finding medicines,
the third part is the community,
the fourth part enables the creation of groups for family.
