Badminton Is An Ideal Good Health Ally
Ever since I was a little boy, sport was an inseparable part of my life — starting with archery when I was just seven years old, through volleyball, to a recently discovered passion for badminton. Badminton was no stranger to me even when I was a child; I played it during family gatherings and hanging out with friends. Back then, all we needed for fun was a good spirit, a couple of rackets and a shuttlecock.

My deeper interest in badminton was aroused in 2019 when I founded a badminton section with my colleagues from Hemofarm within the sports section of our company. I live and work in Vršac, where there already exists a very successful badminton club "FANATIK" (‘FANATIC’). Owing to their generous support, we got the opportunity to use their courts and build a community with colleagues and local badminton fans.

Badminton became my way of de-stressing after many long hours spent at the computer. This sport not only improves my physical health—helps regulate blood pressure and cholesterol, and contributes to weight loss—but also provides me with mental relief and gives me an incentive to be active. It's exciting to chase every ball, and badminton requires speed and agility; an interesting fact is that the fastest shuttlecock ever measured in badminton reached a speed of 421 km/h.

More than just a physical and mental activity, badminton is a social sport that brings us together, whether played in pairs or individually. It networks me with other players that share the same passion, constantly attracting new members.

For those considering taking up a new activity, badminton is an excellent choice. All you need to get started are comfortable shoes, a T-shirt, shorts and a commitment to two or three workouts a week. You can bring in your motivation and the rest of the gear is available in the club. Badminton not only improves your reflexes, coordination, and flexibility, but also creates a sense of community and good mood that enriches your life and makes everyday challenges easier.
