Chose Diet for Infants Carefully
French Modilac, the only infant milk formula with lactoferrin, very important protein for good health of your baby, is now also available in Serbia.

Brest-feeding is a natural way of diet, and breast milk is the best food for the baby. The World Health Organisation recommends mothers exclusively breast-feeding of their infants during the first 6 months, because breast milk contains the ideal quantity of proteins, very important for the proper development of the newborn. The quality of nutrition is also essential for further development and good health of your baby, so here is an opportunity to learn why lactoferrin is the most important protein in breast milk.

What is lactoferrin and why is it so important?

- Lactoferrin is the second largest protein in breast milk and an important ingredient in infant milk formulas. This protein is effective against pathogenic bacteria, it restricts their reproduction and has a beneficial effect in the prevention of various types of neonatal infections and diarrhea in infants - explains Sara Popadić, Pharmacy Specialist and Regional Product Manager in Hemofarm.

Owing to lactoferrin, the risk of serious intestinal infection is reduced in low birth weight infants.

- Lactoferrin plays an active role in development and maturing of infant intestines and contributes to the proper balance of the microbiota. Your baby’s intestinal microbiota consists of a myriad of ‘good’ bacteria that facilitate digestion of food and strengthen its metabolic and immunological functions. Lactoferrin also facilitates normal absorption of iron, essential for proper development of brain and fighting infections - points out our interviewee.

Modilac – the only milk formula containing lactoferrin

French Modilac is now also available in Serbia. It is manufactured in a laboratory which has followed the latest research in the field of infant nutrition for 36 years, with the aim of making its milk formulas as close to the natural breast milk as possible.

- Modilac is a pioneer on the European market when it comes to innovations in the field of infant nutrition. With its formulas, it meets the needs of healthy babies, but also all other therapeutic needs of nurselings. AC Digest formula is thus intended for babies who suffer from cramps, bloating, gases, and spitting up. For babies allergic to cow milk proteins, tasty formulas based on rice proteins are on offer. As of 2018, Modilac is the only milk formula in Europe containing lactoferrin, an important protein for maintaining good health of your child - says Sara Popadić, Pharmacy Specialist.
