Harmonization of Rules and Procedures in Line with the BSCI Code
18. June 2014.
Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is the leading business oriented initiative for companies committed to improvement of work conditions of employees and business environment in whole, by promoting socially responsible operation.

It gathers more than 1200 companies around the social responsibility system, codified in the BSCI Code of Conduct, which is applicable in all areas of operation and all countries and which contributes to continuous development of companies themselves and communities in which they operate. Likewise, it also represents a set of principles and values which reflect the convictions of BSCI participants and expectations they have from their business partners.

Recognizing the importance of operation in socially responsible environment, our company made a decision in the course of this year to accept the principles of social responsibility systematized in the BSCI Code of Conduct, and to harmonize the operation of the company with such principles. BSCI project team has been set up for this purpose in cooperation with the company SGS from Belgrade, as the authorized auditor for BSCI social responsibility standards, with the task to detect the changes which should be made for the purpose of harmonization with the BSCI Code of Conduct, and to implement them and prepare our company for audit of the compliance with the BSCI Code of Conduct. Project team members include: Mariora Andraš Tomić, Director of Human Resources Divisin, Milan Smoljanović, Director of General Affairs Division, Željko Dudić, Director of Purchasing Division, Dr. Dušan Stojaković, External Communications Coordinator, and Nikola Stojiljković, Legal Compliance Manager.

The project team started working in Januray this year, and undertook a large number of activities in the period till June for the purpose of harmonizing Company’s rules and procedures with the BSCI Code of Conduct.

The very audit of BSCI compliance was carried out in the period from June 9th to June 12th by the company SGS, and Hemofarm achieved the result of 97.56% thereby, without a single one of 35 major non-compliances, which is the best result accomplished by a company from Serbia!

This impressive result has been achieved in a relatively short period owing to the team spirit of the Project Team members and other employees in Hemofarm, their professionalism and exceptional organization in the area of corporate social responsibility.
