Hemofarm celebrates 63 years of business operations with new records

Hemofarm, the regional pharmaceutical leader that produced a record 308 million packages of finished products and more than 7.1 billion units in its plants last year, marked 63 years of successful business. With the slogan ‘Caring for People's Health. Caring for a Sustainable Future’, the company emphasizes that caring for people's health and promoting humanity is one of the most important tasks.

‘We started 2023 with an even more ambitious plan to produce over 315 million packages of finished products, which would represent a new production record. We compete with ourselves and everything we achieve, we achieve as a team. In addition to the record production that we achieve year after year, we have remained regional market leaders in extremely challenging times. We continued to invest in people, processes, innovations in production and expansion of the portfolio with the state-of-the-art medicines’, Hemofarm CEO Ronald Seeliger said, emphasizing that the long-term sustainable approach was never disregarded.



The previous year was also marked by redefining of portfolio and strengthening of older and well-known brands such as Rinasek, Febricet, Midol. Hemofarm boosted its largest segment in the drug portfolio - cardiology, with two modern antithrombotic drugs. Last year, Hemofarm also entered the field of oncology, the fastest growing segment of drugs in Serbia, by registering four generic drugs and a biosimilar.

Jubilee certificates of appreciation for 30 years of existence and care for people's health, were presented to Hemofarm Foundation and Hemofarm d.o.o. Banjaluka and also to the Injectables Plant from Vršac for 20 years of successful work.



Hemofarm started operating in Vršac on 01 June 1960 with only 30 employees, and 63 years later the company is the leader in the region and with around 4,000 employees operates globally, on four continents. In addition to Serbia, where production facilities are located in Vršac, Šabac and Dubovac, Hemofarm produces its high-quality pharmaceutical products in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Podgorica (Montenegro). Since 2006, when it became part of STADA Group, this pharmaceutical company has invested 420 million euros in the modernization of the plant, equipment and new facilities of Hemofarm.

Family day for children and employees
Family Day for employees and children was organized to celebrate company's birthday at the Vršac factory. This year, once again Hemofarm celebrated its jubilee certificate holders. A voluntary blood donation campaign was organized as well, in cooperation with the Blood Transfusion Institute of Vojvodina. Health examinations were also organized for the employees at several medical points inside the factory, and children were especially delighted with fun and educational program that Hemofarm prepared for them.
