STADA Health Report 2022: Care of Nutrition is the Foundation of Health
19. December 2022.
36% of Serbian citizens admit that they do not care enough about their diet, and 43% of them complain of indigestion, heartburn and other digestive problems, warns the health survey of the Stada company, which included over 30,000 respondents in 15 countries, including Serbia.

The season of family saint days is underway, and the New Year and Christmas holidays are coming soon. A rich table with an abundance of flavours, colours, and smells brings joy, but larger and more caloric meals can cause a number of health problems and spoil the festive mood. That's why it's important to be moderate, because our stomach will not always pass unaffected by excessiveness, especially when it comes to fatty and spicy food. Stada‘s health survey for 2022 also warns about this.

Although almost 3/4 of Europeans rate their eating and drinking habits as healthy, at the same time 46% of them complain of digestive problems. Indigestion and heartburn are the most common problems for Poles 45% and Serbian citizens 43%, but also for Spaniards 41%, while serious chronic problems with the digestive system are reported by 4% of Europeans and 3% of Serbian citizens.

Women more sensitive to digestive problems

The results of Stada‘s Health Report indicate that women, across Europe, are more sensitive to digestive problems. As many as 50% of the respondents pointed out that they must constantly take care of the type and amount of food they consume, in order to avoid nausea, bloating, vomiting, problems with gas, and the appearance of weaker or stronger stomach pains.

Healthy diet is more and more IN among the citizens of Serbia

Italians 87%, Dutch 84% and French 83% are most concerned about healthy eating. 48% of Serbs and 50% of Spaniards say that they have eaten healthier during the last 12 months, which is above the European average of 40%.

The British, 30%, and the Belgians, 31%, are much less concerned about improving nutrition. At the same time, 36% of respondents in Serbia admit that their eating and drinking habits are unhealthy, which is significantly higher than the European average of 19%.

What do they think about probiotics?

Probiotics are certainly one of the ways to solve digestive problems. As many as 55% of Serbian citizens think that probiotics are very useful and that it is good to take them, which is significantly higher than the European average of 37%. Stada's survey also shows that across Europe, 42% of women are more in favour of probiotics, and 44% of them are young, between the ages of 25 and 34.

34% of Europeans doubt the effectiveness of probiotics, while 16% of the Dutch, 10% of Germans, 9% of Belgians and 5% of Serbian citizens believe that probiotics are not needed at all.
