In addition to securing the supply of medicines in Serbia, the regional pharmaceutical leader, Hemofarm, and its parent company, STADA, also delivered substantial humanitarian aid to Serbia, in the value of almost 400,000 euros. Namely, the donation included 110 monitors for patient monitoring, without which the doctors who are continuing the battle against the coronavirus would not be able to work.

‘The message reading: “To Serbia with Love”, inscribed on the lorry with the shipment of this important medical equipment, sums up the sentiment of all six thousand employees of our parent company, STADA, and of all the employees of Hemofarm, who continued working seven days a week even in these hard times, in order to secure the supply of medicines’, was the message of Dr Ronald Seeliger, Hemofarm CEO, from Germany, the starting point of this humanitarian shipment.

On behalf of the Republic of Serbia, this important donation was received by Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health, in presence of German Ambassador to Serbia, Thomas Schieb.

‘All the medical personnel agreed that, in addition to ventilators, the monitors which would secure real-time monitoring of patients’ vital functions would be of crucial importance during the battle against coronavirus. This is why I want to express our deep gratitude to Hemofarm for this donation’, said Lončar announcing that, upon the end of this crisis, most of the monitors will be forwarded to the departments for care of prematurely born children.

German Ambassador, Thomas Schieb, expressed his opinion that COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated to all of us that unity is the key to all challenges, including this one. ‘Germany will certainly continue the cooperation with Serbia, both in the battle against coronavirus and in the field of economy’, said H.E. Schieb, pointing out that STADA and Hemofarm represent a symbol of such cooperation.

With its maximum contribution in the battle against coronavirus and in defending people’s health, Hemofarm has been breaking its production records from the very start of the pandemic.

‘We believe this represents our best applause of support as well as that the support we have been offering must not be short-lived. In this way, we protect people’s health and keep the trust the citizens have had in us for the 60 years of Hemofarm’s existence’, said Marko Devrnja, Marketing Director of Hemofarm.

In addition to the 110 monitors donated to Serbia, Hemofarm and STADA also secured donations to the other countries where their manufacturing sites are situated – 10 monitors to Montenegro and 30 monitors to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
